Access to wired network

To connect desktops and laptops (hosts) to the wired network of the department, unregistered users must fill the registration and request web form.

Registered users must instead fill the request web form.

Use of wired network

Wired network access requires IPv4 protocol and is enabled via DHCP protocol soon after service activation.

Hosts must be configured to automatically obtain IP address and netmask, gateway address and DNS servers.
Usually, the latest versions of Linux, Windows and MacOS X operating systems are pre-configured as required, if not please refer to your operating system documentation.

NOTA: in case of problems we advise, if possible, to explicitly disable IPv6 support.
